Your Wedding Cake is a big part of your special day, whether it is a multi-tiered showstopper or an amazing dessert table, a cake from Purple Flour will guarantee that perfect cake cutting photo!

Your Wedding Cake should be unique to you as a couple, and I meet with you for a personal consultation in the cake pod to create your perfect design.

I will then sketch your design bringing your vision to life enabling you to order with complete confidence.

Wedding Cake Consultations

It all starts in the cake pod. We will meet in person to chat about your initial ideas and plans over coffee, and of course cake. I am told it’s often the best part of your entire wedding planning!

You can try your three favourite flavours from my cake menu whilst we discuss theme, colours, flowers, tiers and sizes, as well as guest numbers.

You will also be able to see my collection of cake stands that can enhance your design into that all important wedding photo opportunity.

After the consultation I will send you your hand sketched unique design and estimate.

It’s the fun part! You can try different flavours of cakes and we chat about ideas, colours, themes, and then we start planning your design. It’s a super relaxed atmosphere in the cake pod and I am often told it is the most enjoyable part of wedding planning!

Yes! I often meet with my couples on Zoom, these can be during the day or in the evenings.

Yes of course! I highly recommend it.

Yes, I deliver all wedding cakes and set them up at your venue. Timings for setup are very important, especially over the summer months, to ensure that your cake is perfect when served to your guests. There will be a charge for delivery.

I am based in Tunbridge Wells and travel as far as London and Essex to the North, Canterbury to the East, Rye to the South and Horsham to the West.

As much notice as you can give me, it’s never too early to enquire! Some key dates are booked up over a year in advance.

Yes I do, please ask me during your Consultation on the options. Biscuit favours are hugely popular and make a beautiful addition to your tables.

Yes! I offer a taster box of 3 to 4 flavours that you can try at home. Taster boxes are a great way to experience my cakes before your big day. Please message me about cost and options.

Yes! I have a very sweet tooth and have a selection of other treats for your wedding cake table…profiteroles, macarons and cupcakes to name but a few. Please chat to me about other treats during your Consultation.

Yes! I have a small selection of flavours available that can be baked with allergies in mind, and also a small vegan cake menu.

Yes I do. They are a little more fragile especially in the summer months but we can discuss all of the options during your Consultation.

This is going to depend on the number of guests you are catering for. My standard cake tiers are made up of four sponges and three layers of filling plus the covering on the outside, making each tier almost 8” tall, so you may not need as large a diameter cake as you may think.

Cake Menu

Taste and flavour are as important as the look of your cake.

Everything is baked in the cake pod using the highest quality ingredients, and greatest care is taken for each and every bake.

All cakes are moist and full of flavour – never dry or never dull!

Vanillabean sponge, seedless raspberry conserve, vanilla bean buttercream

Rich Chocolate sponge, chocolate ganache buttercream or salted toffee buttercream (or both!)

Lemon Sponge, zingy lemon curd buttercream, with the option of adding elderflower for a delicate floral note or poppyseed for a classic flavour combination!

Alternating Coffee and Vanilla Sponges with layers of amaretto, cream cheese and chocolate buttercream

Coconut sponge, drizzled with lime syrup, zesty coconut & lime buttercream

Pistachio sponge, vanilla buttercream, tangy lemon curd

White chocolate sponge, white chocolate and vanilla bean buttercream, passionfruit curd

One of my couples favourites! Moist and full of flavour carrot cake baked with walnuts, cinnamon, ginger, layered with cream cheese buttercream (can be made nut free)

A sumptuous red sponge, layered with a cream cheese buttercream – another firm favourite of many couples!

Banana Cake baked with cinnamon and nutmeg, layered with toffee buttercream

Think Sticky Toffee Pudding! Layered with salted toffee buttercream

A rich fruit cake baked from my mother-in-laws recipe, with the fruit soaked in brandy for two weeks and the cake baked at least two months in advance of your day to ensure it is moist and full of flavour
